The Town of Blackstone Juneteenth Committee Inc.

Established in July 2021, the Town of Blackstone Juneteenth Committee Incorporated (TBJC) is a non-profit organization that educates individuals on Juneteenth and black history.  The common goal amongst all members is educating everyone on the history of African Americans by celebrating individuality and cultural differences throughout the year. The TBJC vision includes everyone getting along and helping bridge the racial divide in society by educating everyone and having fun while doing so.

TBJC takes pride in educating the youth and having fun while doing so.  Annually, TBJC partners with the Town of Blackstone to host a Juneteenth Celebration.  The event is not for one particular group of people but for all individuals to come to learn, enjoy, and make memories.

Each year, the organization creates an event that honors the African American heritage and culture, which has now been recognized as a national holiday on June 19.

TBJC hosts non-profit fundraisers and events that correspond with the celebration and continuously creates programs that enlighten the minds of others.

With a board of three college-educated women and a committee of 25 members, TBJC has gained momentum in the community and the State.

With backing from illustrious HBCUs and corporations, TBJC plans to continue to further the organization for years to come.
